Join the Dean’s Unit in the Faculty of Law as an Events Assistant on a casual basis for 12 months.
About the Role
The Events Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to assist with event management of Academic-led and Faculty events. The Events Assistant will report to the Executive Officer.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting risk assessments and obtain necessary approvals before event execution to ensure compliance and safety.
- Planning, coordinating, and delivering events aligned with stakeholder expectations and university/faculty guidelines, including maintaining accurate records.
- Providing on-the-day event support and managing logistics such as travel bookings, invoice processing, and expense tracking with attention to budget variances.
- Contributing to a collaborative team environment by supporting colleagues and assisting with workload during peak times.
About You
The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:
- Highly organised with strong time management skills, able to balance competing priorities and meet tight deadlines with flexibility.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and maintain a professional image.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with high accuracy in English grammar and confidence working with diverse stakeholders.
- Experienced in event planning, budget management, and using various IT systems (e.g., Concur Travel), with a good understanding of university systems and processes.
What we offer you
Hourly Salary Rate: $56.58 - $64.73 per hour (HEW 5) plus 11.5% superannuation.
This casual role is offering up to 17.5 hours per week for approximately 12 months.
Hours may vary depending on operational needs.
